The local area has many delightful walks and Renaissance is an excellent base from which to explore the local countryside. A packed lunch for interested parties can be arranged at a small extra charge. The beautiful Northern coastline of Brittany is only 25mins away. Sable D'Or offers sandy beaches and continuing further northwards rocky coastlines entering sandy coves offer marvellous views up to Fort la Latte and beyond. Jugon Les Lacs just 10mins away offers water activities on the lake with superb walks, picnic stops and the town itself has good restaurants, banks and shops. There is also an open-air swimming pool open during the summer months. The medieval town of Dinan with its history, culture and charm is just 20mins away. The historical Chateau de la Hunaudaye is just 500 meters away and during the summer months medieval times are re-enacted.

Ferry crossings operate from St.Malo less than an hour away, Cherbourg 3hours and Caen 2 hours. Also Condor Ferries and P and O offer Fastcat services across the channel.
